PRESENT CONTINOUS

Residence reinterprets the traditional courtyard as a sequence of lived moments rather than a single central void. Multiple courtyards are carefully inserted to slow down movement, bring daylight deep into the house, and create moments of pause within daily routines. These open-to-sky spaces are not visual features but spatial anchors—quietly connecting rooms, circulation, and levels. Light, shadow, rain, and wind become active participants, changing the character of the house through the day and across seasons. The home unfolds inward, creating an introverted yet deeply connected living experience.

DETAILS

Planned on a compact urban plot, the house is organized around a series of courtyards that structure both movement and living. Public and private spaces are layered around these voids, ensuring constant visual and sensory connection without compromising privacy. Circulation is deliberately indirect, allowing residents to experience changing light, textures, and views as they move through the house. Materials are kept honest and tactile—stone, plaster, wood, and filtered light—reinforcing the calm, grounded nature of the spaces. The result is a home that feels open yet protected, contemporary yet rooted in climatic and cultural logic.
